     My boss works on site and it's very remote. He says he now has to drive a few hundred miles to the mechanic and can't clear a check engine light because they can't help if he does. The check engine light has limited his max speed to 55 mph lmao

     That already happens. I was driving my mom's car for a trip and set the cruise control for 75 and it reduced it to 65 to match the speed limit while I wasn't looking.

     All new cars are. Even the ones like the Corvette. They are capped to the speed rating of the production tires. Hybrid, electric cars have high roll resistance tires which are rated to 105. They are capped to… 104.
