is it safe to version a KeePassX container? either uploading it to the cloud daily (the different versions are side-by-side) or in a git repo or something.

@kaia not really what you asked but i switched to bitwarden (well, vaultwarden) and it works really well.

@thatbrickster @Moon @kaia that sounds like the best solution. The likelihood of you adding a new entry on the go is low. If that ever happens, just note it or password reset at home

@kaia I am not sure because it requires scripting and I don't know if keepassxc has scripting like keepass2 does.

@Moon KeePassDX can be told to open read-only. I believe Syncthing can also set dirs to receive-only.

@Moon how do you do it? :kaia_look: I'm fine with adding new entries on the laptop only and just having read copies on the phones

@kaia yes if you only access it from one place. No if you access it from more than one place because it won't intelligently merge.
