AA had an absolutely incredible livestream the other day about the Cultural Cold War and extent of CIA's influence. Discovered many mind blowing things. Tracked down the meeting that George Orwell was at with James Burnham that made him want to write 1984. James Burnham was the inspiration behind the O'Brien character, and Orwell observing him actively setting up a fake left and fake right in Europe inspired the Party. CIA wanted to create a fake "social democratic left" in Europe that was left-wing and American aligned but *not* communist so they wouldn't fall under the influence of Moscow. Those parties went on to become the dominant force in EU. Shows how modern art, music and literature were all directed behind the scenes to align with regime goals. Shows Orwell getting the inspiration behind "We've always been at war with East Asia" after witnessing the volte face the Allies did in the immediate aftermath of WW2 wherein they had to abandon their earlier psyop of friendly old Uncle Joe Stalin our great friend, and overnight make him into an evil villain we've always opposed. Shows that in 1946 in the bombed out remnants of Dresden, in a cold frozen theatre with icicles hanging from the ceiling, CIA airlifted in several negro jazz musicians to perform to them, to try and sell the residents there on the idea of liberty, expression and freedom.
