     @roboneko @splitshockvirus @e IIRC, "sd" stands for SCSI disk even though the same notation is used for SATA, USB and other types. Earlier kernel versions with separate IDE drivers used /dev/hdX with "hd" standing for hard disk, but I think now the storage drivers have been refactored and IDE uses /dev/sdX as well.

     @mint @splitshockvirus @e tbh should use something resembling BIP39 either one or two components and assign based on /dev/urandom instead of enumeration order. would be way more difficult to inadvertently fuck up dd commands and would prevent setups depending on a cable never getting swapped
