     @why My guess is that it's to make games faster, and faster games means you can fit more timeslot for games which means more registration money

     @coolboymew also the longer a bingo game goes on, the more likely there are 2 simultaneous winners. might be cool to run simulation on n players and a various set of rules

     @coolboymew im sure cruise ships and retirement homes have hired gambling math pros to design a bingo game that will maximize attachment rate (but not necessarily profiting off the old folks (you already have all their money lmao))

     @coolboymew i imagine a lot of retirement homes are part of a chain and have some governing body that gives them, among other things, a standardized ruleset for their bingo.
