     @arstechnica my workplace has a Muzak channel that is ‘nothing but covers’ by ‘not the original artist’ I’ve been trying to figure out how this is saving someone money as it happens. Perhaps I should have been seeing it as priming the market for a wave of deepfakes and ai renditions. If the label publisher owns it 100 percent, they get the whole slice of pie.

     @arstechnica RIAA asking the real questions: if no human plays the instruments, sings the vocals, or writes the lyrics, how is the RIAA going to be able to shake people down for licensing fees?
