I’m not really sure why they even designed gym outfits for them if they spend most of their time in the dojo? Maybe they were scrapped designs that got recycled?
The reason why I’m so weirdly fixated on this is because they kinda did Avery dirty. He’s a pretty twink that just gets shat on because he has no drip.

It was just kind of insulting because the stated reason they removed most of the pokemon was to improve animations and graphics but it didn’t seem like they did enough to justify it. Personally I feel like they should have just kept the 2D visuals and just worked on making those better.
I think S/V was at least a little better but I couldn’t get through it. It was the only pokemon game I just gave up on but I can’t tell if that was because of its kinda meh open world or because I’m finally burnt out on it after playing for like 20 years.

cool_boy_mew (coolboymew@shitposter.club)'s status on Saturday, 05-Aug-2023 06:22:14 JST cool_boy_mew @che5hire The problem is that any excuses falls flat when the games sells double digit millions at each main entries and considering this is the world's most profitable franchise
It stopping to support all Pokemon in each games was an inevitability, but it truly came at the worst possible time
-The game genuinely looks like they ported the 3DS engine. Even the latest ones, some screenshots makes it looks like they're working on a 3DS scale, which is weird
-They were still using stiff Gameboy like character animations (that they finally fixed in the latest one I believe)
-They said that cutting Pokémon is because they're trying to improve animation, but then it didn't and Pokemon Stadium on the N64 looked way better animation wise
-etc
It's just getting really freaking weird. Ultimately my current issue with it is that it seems like a JRPG that's ashamed to be one. Online battling is boring as fuck, there's still practically nothing interesting to do post game, game is easy as christ and ultimately is makes the premise completely pointless. You have a game with "infinite" customisable party members and oddly deep stats system that has a lot of them and.... there's nothing to do with them
Not even some sort of mystery dungeon mode based on levels to level up, catch, find items and risk/reward your way to the end to get points to exchange. The game has no real quests and other WRPG/JRPGs mechanism and etc
There's nothing interesting to do in the games -
cool_boy_mew (coolboymew@shitposter.club)'s status on Saturday, 05-Aug-2023 06:49:38 JST cool_boy_mew @che5hire yeah pretty much, if I cared about PVP, I would be on showdown instead of losing my time training all of these pokemon on the absolutely nothing to support the deeper mechanism
The thing is, as far as I'm aware, even the battle frontier is kind of basic. I'm searching for things more in line with how Stadium was, which could be part of the post game. I don't like the battle frontier consecutive battle thing, I want a better formed challenge -
Caroline 💜 (che5hire@buff.tomboyfan.club)'s status on Saturday, 05-Aug-2023 06:49:39 JST Caroline 💜 @coolboymew Yeah you’re probably legitimately better off playing Showdown because at least that actually understands how PvP should be handled and is really the only way you can seriously play with a lot of the more complicated mechanics. It’s more insulting because there was the battle frontier and hard mode which was steering the series in the right direction and gave you PvCPU stuff but they both got removed because… I don’t know?
