   I got bored and I saw a YouTube recommendation of a tik tok compilation for 10 minutes so I decided to click on it.

   Biggest mistake of my entire life.

   I can actively feel the retardation radiating from the screen.

   I am fully convinced that the app is a covert operation by the Chinese government to dumb down the rest of the world so they can easily take over.

   Because YouTube may be dumb and have a lot of brain rot but there is nothing to this extent not even close on the YouTube shorts. And if there is it's an outlier on YouTube not a consistent thing.

     It is. Their version of tiktok is nowhere near that bad

     That's because in China, they basically have to tard wrangle companies, but they also know that companies can be perfect propaganda machines for good citizens. If Big Tech is beholden to payment processors and advertisers, in China you have to do what the CCP says or you're banned.
     
     So for all we know TikTok might have wanted to do the same shit in China but the government wouldn't let them, or they had to have actual moderation (likely openly government). The CCP isn't just worried about people questioning the official version of events like with Twitter and the FBI, but furthermore the CCP would rather not have an epidemic of drugged out troons or white kids copying rap or roasties like in the USA. There's also mandated timers, kids modes that actually work, more educational/patriotic content, and fewer kids doing dumbass challenges.
