The US had Prigozhin bought off from the start, and Putin’s philosemitism proved to be his blind spot. The US probably lied to Prigozhin and promised him that if he attempted a coup d’etat we would send troops into the SMO zone and support him, which of course we won’t. But he was dumb enough and jewish enough to take the US at its word.
