I grabbed what I could reach from the ground. I may grab a ladder and head back there again tomorrow. I don't see any indication it has many human foragers, and the whole thing is loaded so there will be plenty for wildlife. If it were my tree I'd prune it as I go because I've learned that's the easiest way to get a bunch of berries at once from higher places. -

I just don't want them to think it's because I have a problem with their tree leaning over the alley. I love mulberry. Very low maintenance requirements and high yield of delicious (and nutritious) fruit -

I've never had mulberreries. They look similar to blackberries. Is the flavor and texture similar or totally different?Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: likes this. -

They are less fibrous and you can't help but squish a ripe berry a little bit so you dye your skin picking them. They are a bit sweeter than blackberries too, but they're packed with vitamin c.
There are also white mulberries which is most of what I have in my yard. I have one purple tree but it's significantly smaller. This thing is well established and could probably feed the whole neighborhood if need be. -

The birds love them so you get purple bird shit everywhere when they are fruiting. -

Also the fruits hold onto their stem which makes it a little annoying to process for jam or something -
