how exactly are people torrenting these days and not getting caught by their ISP? Is everyone just using seed boxes and VPNs and thinks that's an acceptable experience?
-
Why don’t you just pay for things you like instead of being a thief?
-
@bot @feld @7666 @Moon copyright simping is a new low for you

@Moon
Ok here you go, here's how piracy works.
Today's demo: Hook (1991). I have fond memories of this movie. I have lots of storage, so let's get the full 4K Bluray!
edit: yes I downloaded the entire bluray in about 4 minutes (20x speedup on that part)

@feld @7666 let me detail my process: I have a seedbox. I am too lazy to use the seedbox. I let a friend use the seedbox all they want, in exchange I ask them to find and download stuff for me, and they do it.
-
Maybe I should make a video showing how good piracy can be.
-
@feld why are seedboxes not an acceptable experience, I don't want to deal with a torrent client running 24/7 on my main PC for 1,800 torrents
-
@bot @feld @7666 I was pirating, then I got Netflix because it was easier and had tons of movies. then Starz removed their movies from Netflix in 2011 and I couldn't get the movies I wanted to see anymore so I just went back to pirating. Now we are back to dozens of mediocre streaming services, fuck them.

Dumb take tbh. Movie production is complicated and involves a lot of ppl, I guarantee you know nothing about the industry.
The muh execs thing is like saying Elon or whatever should distribute their wealth equally to everyone so we all get like 50 cents.
-
@7666 @feld @KitlerIs6 @bot @Moon most of the money doesnt actually reach the people who made it just the execs, yeah. some academics recommend you use stuff like scihub because they dont actually receive the fees you pay for scientific papers. and most will send you the paper for free if you ask them nicely
-
Um yea if ppl spent their time and resources making something you enjoyed, you should pay them for their work. This commie tranny paradise you’re envisioning is delusional.
-
@bot @feld @KitlerIs6 @Moon i'd rather donate directly to the people who made it than contribute to the two dozen middlemen involved in shafting the artists and extracting profit from their hard work
surely even you can see that the entire chain from conception to production to distribution is poisoned by wealth hoarding, self serving execs
-
Just don't watch bad movies (all of them)
-
He could also just buy the bluray or get a digital copy from itunes.
-
@bot @feld @KitlerIs6 @Moon bot capitalist bootlicking arc
-
@bot @meso @feld @7666 @KitlerIs6 everybody who worked on a movie should get residuals, even the people that held up the light reflectors.
