You don't need to make a permanent account to get some support, that's what makes IRC an infinitely better protocol than whatever proprietary shitware is being shoveled today.
And better than Matrix too, for that matter, though I've been told it is technically possible to configure your server to allow anonymous users without an account. I've never seen anyone actually do it, and I'm guessing it would just be more of a spam generator than matrix.org is already.
And honestly, if you can't figure out how to do /msg nickserv help and read, perhaps it's best you do not get to have a registered account. The barrier is minimal, but it exists, and having barriers isn't always the pure evil you want it to be.
