   Assuming this is who I'm thinking of it's Sam Zeloof. He's using old fab equipment a few generations behind the current mainstream... so like 90s technology.
   
   If he does manage to produce an open chipfab suite then it'd be incredible, even technology from back then could be very very useful.
   
   I suspect dirty tricks though, the DOD clan pretty much owns the chip industry and won't want to let it get open sourced.

     @Eiregoat Yeah, they announced a company last month so consider it dead and captured. The only hope is staying open source and collaborating with others while the tech becomes promising enough to gain protection. Jumping right into having an EIN and a mailing address is putting a target on your ballsack
