@ishadowx @Terry @Hplcat @white_male @skylar the truth is it's acceleration and a good one at that.
Alex Jones having another forced payout isn't stopping his show but tucker forced off of a huge tv network with everyone from Greenblatt to shitlib media doing a victory lap is an accelerant. Even if he's forced to non compete for a few years (the last thing fox needs is another former host making it big like Glenn Beck did) until he's replaced with a new right wing celeb who is off Fox news, the shift away from Fox news that's been in progress since the 2020 election will happen far faster.

Here's the thing that a boomer saw; they used the terms that they agreed to part ways. Not that he was let go. That has a very key difference because in corporate speak it means that they made him sign some shit to get out of there and not be their problem anymore.
There's a real fear that it had something about possibly starting a new media venture because there have been a lot of high profile departures/firings as of late on both sides, and you can be sure that any no name media network who picked him up (think Newsmax, OANN, or even Infowars of all people) would get boosted and they can't have that. If they can't have him, nobody can.

@PhenomX6 @Terry @Hplcat @ishadowx @white_male @skylar Can they hold you to a non-compete agreement if you're fired? That doesn't seem right at all.

@PhenomX6 @Hplcat @ishadowx @white_male @mrsaturday @skylar you sign the non compete when you get hired. Its still enforceable regardless of how you leave the company.

@Terry @PhenomX6 @Hplcat @ishadowx @mrsaturday @skylar It might be an even harder hit for them to gag Carlson.
If parties are willing it is still negotiable, so they might've let go of some conditions.

for Fox it's literal suicide. remember how effective the Bud Light boycott has been? imagine that energy being used to boycott Tucker because right now it's all over the normie conservative sphere.
