     @BowsacNoodle @Nou ah yeah emus are large too. We have joked that we might get an emu here because the city won't let us have livestock but up to 20 birds is fine. Then we realize that we can't chase an emu down the street the same way we can a turkey if it gets out of the pen (an emu can run like 35 mph or something silly). There is a farm near here that has them and I have actually confirmed we **could** technically do this (although I think the city would probably end up amending their laws if we did)

     Insane. I think I've had ostrich jerky but never egg or proper meat. Would it be comparable to bison?

     almost 6 moths to grow a full size bird, eggs and it's red meat not effected buy the lonestar tick if you get bit
     
     very lean meat but, better than nothing if you get zog plague

     @King_Porgi @BowsacNoodle @thatguyoverthere @Nou I’ve had bison and ostrich steak, ostrich has its own taste, can’t really compare it to anything. I’ve seen bison for sale at Publix and Wholefoods in the US but not ostrich, I found the ostrich steaks at Aldi when I lived in Ireland.
