     @sj_zero That’s a unanimous sentiment, from what I can see. Yet their silence to their own families has allowed the school system to rebrand the “greatest generation” as hippies, prot-antifa, anti-segregationists, etc.

     So many people tell me they only found out about grandpa’s service record when he died, never speaking on it all his life. It really sucks, their stories should have been shared by their own tongues and pens, not reconstructionist liberal propagandists

     Thankfully my grandfather's story was passed down through the generations, and made it into my book to my son.
     
     Imagine the trauma of not only watching your best friend die right in front of you while you were walking down the street, but watching moment by moment as the free country you fought for melted away one hour at a time.
     
     On November 11th when we're asked to remember, I do remember, and it makes me mad as hell that we betrayed them like that.

     Basically, 77% of the people who fought in afgan were white (like 88% were male on top of that). And if you look at the full demographics of the army, only 52% of them are white. So there's a vast overrepresentation of whites actually getting deployed and fighting for some reason
