     I have an overall problem with the quality of writing in the Anime industry as a whole. I just stopped watching Anime because it was making me angry.
     
     Like being stuck in a room with a stupid person only capable of expressing basic thoughts and ideas on loop, and having no way out.

     There's very little actual plot between episodes and then it happens all of the sudden because the author is hack not to mention all the gay shit...

     I enjoyed how manly it was, I too dropped it initially, but I picked it up not long ago and I loved it
     
     The whole man on man bonding and being together despite the odds was amazing, season two has a bit more of that but it doesn't have an ending, it's incomplete
     
     Honestly the first season perfectly embodies the :LETSFUCKINGGOO: I WANNA DIE IN A FUCKING WAR LET'S GOOOOOO sentiment I like so much and one of the main characters just straight up marries a loli and it's adorable, those two are honestly worthy of an entire spin off

     But if I had to guess I would say it was just garbage writing, with people acting like caricatures of archetypes and having put up with that since the late 2000s I finally fucking snapped and said fuck it.

     It's not localizers that are the source of the problem. I have watched plenty of subtitled shows from official to fansub, and the problem is literally that these scripts are written by hacks or by people who are competent but otherwise constrained by corporate requirements and lowest-common-denominator targeting goals.
     
     The average Anime watcher (just like other areas of modern entertainment) does not possess the attention span to sit through a moderately intelligent show that isn't on 100% all the time with overhyped highschool relationship drama, constant yelling and screaming, and explosions.
     
     The Anime industry underwent a drastic shift from the golden age of OVAs, it's now more akin to the Saturday Morning Cartoon era of American Television where the primary purpose is to push other products like Toys, or Manga, and the productions are treated more like a loss leader product than a serious endeavor at telling a story.

     That's not a real ending, it's like when publishers tell mangakas to wrap their stories because they are getting discontinued
     
     They had to put a literal slideshow in the ending because it "ended" so abruptly there was half the story just straight inconclusive
     
     AoT is an example of a bad but conclusive ending, all stories are given a conclusion but IBO just straight up ends into a slideshow
