How evil eventually wins:

By not fighting for what's right, all things are eventually the lesser of two evils...but nevertheless, evils.

Nothing's "as bad as it *could* be"; also "nothing's as good as it *should* be".

Evil has won. A 'lesser evil' was chosen time after time...until everything is a 'lesser evil' (but still an evil).
