@sun I see it as a control thing. Rust is controlled by the Rust foundation, which in turn funded by Google, Microsoft, etc., while having execs from Google, Microsoft, Huawei, Meta, AWS, etc., on its board of directors. Having Rust in the kernel would open the doors to those people having more control over the Linux kernel. There's no equivalent foundation with that level of resources controlling the development of C. C is just C. The Linux C coders should have been even more dickish.

there are no good guys. the linux c coders were jerks and the rust people should work on their own kernel.
