     It's called "personal property tax" and I just went to the website, I was wrong as far as the county taxing unsold inventory (it may be taxed in B&O taxes), but they have an equally absurd thing where they tax everything the business itself owns, like chairs and even brochures.

     That kind of makes more sense, but at the same time property tax should not include any non perminant fixtures

     Equally absurd they are applying property tax to things that are not typically classified as property. And they are specifically saying things that can be moved out at the end of a lease. Ridiculous I'd never do business if I had to itemize everything like that.

     Me too. You can always tell when a store is about to go out because they slowly stop having inventory (my county taxes stores based on their unsold goods in inventory, incentivisig a "Just-in-time" business model, which is horrific and always results in artificial shortages and higher prices due to failures of demand prediction.)
