why do some posts have a lock icon on them, and others don't. See, Most times i see a hellthread on the public timeline, they don't have locks, so i decided to ask my friends son, @p about it. He's a wizard at these sort of tech things

He said that the lock prevents the thread from reaching the federated timeline, and heres the kicker, that's where all the people are. So its got me thinking, either I misunderstand what a hellthread is, or, and here's where you come in Mr' Rher,

This wasn't a hellthread to begin with, and is instead some cheap fabrication, made to be kinder to other, smaller instances that won't have to federate with it...

doesn't sound very hellish to me
