@Ronnie21093@ninja8tyu You should try one of those traps that's just a large bucket and a ramp leading to the bucket, and fill the bucket with water so the rats drown
@Ronnie21093@poopernova mice are also more clever than you'd think, so whatever traps you do set up has to catch as many as possible, because they'll learn
only real effective way is genocide through predator or chemical warfare
@Ronnie21093@ninja8tyu 5 gallon buckets are pretty big and cheap, you can find them at most hardware store, and you might be able to get one for free if you look around at construction sites or something
@ninja8tyu@poopernova Yeah, these rats are smart. I'm hoping the kittens I showed here last night are good rat hunters, because the cat already living in my house is not a hunter :flan_tired:
@Spooke@poopernova@Ronnie21093 a little oil covering the bottom (or a lot of alcohol/water with dish soap) should prevent most of the rats from jumping out, i'd imagine
@ninja8tyu@Ronnie21093@poopernova i think it depends on how big the rat is because they can jump out of one of those big black plastic garbage bins with the lid on. There's a shawn woods video where he catches a rat in the mousetrap he was using and it almost jumped out.
