   This reminded me of a story an anon once shared about a fantasy novel series he was following for a decade from this one female writer involving a guy and a girl going on adventures together.
   The novel had years worth of these 2 bonding and having life and death situations together only for the latest entry in the series to have the girl sleep with a random guy she met then saying he's not the one and continuing on like nothing happened.
   This essentially wasted all the time and effort the novels spent building their relationship and lead the readers on for a decade only to waste it all on a woman moment. The fanbase was enraged.

     @Meemoo modern writers more like use the kindle unlimited freebie they hand out every few months to read.
     
     They don't sell books anymore all they do is put all their stuff on kindle unlimited.
     
     @Giganova8 can attest to this let people on royalroad beta test their posts while paying them a monthly stipend only to have them yank it to be posted on amazon kindle unlimited afterwards.
