   I don't understand spending X on the normal version of something and then 5X on the luxury version. Are you really getting 5X the lifespan out of the luxury model? What if the luxury variant breaks? It's fucking stupid.

     @c Because it's easier to "get pussy" with the luxury version if you're hunting for dreg women. When you try it you see how amazing it is. A luxe car will suddenly have mediocre looking but skinny chicks (whores) asking for rides and tossing their panties at you (because they think you're a viable gold digging target)

     I bought a Taurus revolver even after hearing people I knew IRL and people online shit talking the quality because it's not some fancy high-end brand. I only shot it once so far but it was so fucking nice and smooth and cost like 1/3 of the price of a S&W. Plus, it's a revolver. Not a whole lot can go wrong with it unless you use it a fuckload which I don't and never planned to. I guess Taurus is basically an offshoot of S&W in Brazil that uses their old machines, something like that, so unless they're literally using fake seashell metal instead of real metal, who cares? Fucking nonsensical.

     Every gun has a purpose, and with the amount most people shoot even a PSA is overkill. Most IRL gun guys I talk to maybe have 100 rounds per gun in the safe, yet they act like they're running 30k per year through the barrels. It's silly.

     Plus working at a range it seemed like the name brand, new guns acted up WAY more often than the frankenshit people would bring to classes.

     "IDK why it's doing this, I thought Daniel Defense/HK/FN/SOLGW/Knights/Larue was supposed to be good!!!", meanwhile the "scrub" with a 20 year old ruger would outshoot the whole lot of them while wearing a hoodie. Very weird industry, it's kind of like how the best guitarists always seem to cap out at $1,500 rigs, but the shittiest ones have $4,000 gibson reissues

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @c I bought a Pixel 8 Pro when it came out and every time I take a picture (I take several every day at work) I'm reminded of what a great purchase it was
     Doesn't do a lot that my previous phone (Samsung S9+) couldn't do but holy crap the camera on this one is 10x better.

     @monsterislandcolonizer @c Camera is an improvement, and multitasking is better on them now. Better performance under heat, that's kind of worth the upgrade. Some of the video conferencing features are nicely appreciated these days, too

     I almost never use my camera so my phone is just a mobile lurking device. Amazingly, the one I have now, I got for like $70 with zero expectation that it would also perform well as an emulator but I was proven wrong. It can handle almost anything through PSX/N64/PSP with a few exceptions which rocks. Good storage is the only other thing I need and I'm set.

     @c @monsterislandcolonizer Might be their corp settings, I still haven't added it. I went without an iphone for a couple years and they kept giving me new ones to get back in the circle.....It's won me over. I will give apple credit that the ios stuff does make itself more stable and livable compared to droid. It's playskool equipment, but that's refreshing if you jealously guard your time from having to muck around with tech getting it sorted out.

     It's also a definite status thing w/ moneyed folks, being able to use the built in apple shit for meetings, appointments, messages, photos is a way bigger advantage than I thought. I've seen media guys fired from future gigs because they they couldn't just send the company full res pics on imessage, he was sitting there trying to get everyone to download some fag app and make accounts just to hand off some media outside his normal chain of custody, and it just pissed everybody off having to work with him. Really points to how people hate having to waste their time on tech, apple still at least cares about reducing that friction in comms as much as possible.

     For non-work though the droid's way better, closer to a little computer you can tailor how you please, better media consumption device by far, Screens and audio always blow apple's away. Just like any tool really, it all comes down to what's fit for mission.

     Idk how much of this is the fact that it's a work phone and probably tampered with by faggots but I got an iPhone for work and I hate this goddamn thing. It's the only Apple product I've ever owned. It will desperately try to force you to add a payment option to the device so it has a default to use for God knows what and then it will ask you if you want to do a software update now only to ignore you when you say "no" and go ahead with the shutdown immediately. I hate the interface besides but that's another issue.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @c I also really like the Google voice assistant, but Samsung's voice assistant was garbage. There are times I'm trying to get a picture of something in the dark and I can tell my phone to turn on the flashlight instead of flipping through a menu which is SUPER useful. I also set a lot of alarms at work that way which also helps a lot.
     I use some of the AI features when I take a picture of something and I want to search for it online without going through the rigmarole of getting Google images to work.
     I could get by without this stuff but it saves me time for little routine tasks and I'd miss those things if I went back
